LYFE: Live Your Faith Everyday

Thursday, July 23, 2015

For my very first blog post I feel it only fitting to write about the blog's namesake: faith and femininity.  In today's culture, femininity is under attack.  Don't get me wrong, women absolutely(!) deserve equal pay and the openness to achieve any goals they set their mind to, but to say men and women are the same is an attack on the differences God gifted us with.  Genesis 1:27 says, "God created man in His own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female He created them." Note that it says male and female, not just He created them.
Women bring something to society that men never will.  Our minds are different.  Has anyone else heard men are like waffles and women are like spaghetti?  The fact that men can go into their "nothing box" astounds me.  It must be nice to be able to shut down all your thoughts- something my spaghetti mind will never be able to comprehend. No matter how many surgeries someone born biologically male goes through he will never be able to have a female "spaghetti" brain.  There are certain things that are innately female that no amount of surgeries can produce.  To say that someone can just become a woman insults who we are and the place we hold in the world.  In my opinion, feminism has it wrong.  We should be celebrating the fact that we are special!  Not begging to all be considered the same.  People should be treated equally, not seen as the same.
